Commentary

Aussie Land & Livestock: 250hd1100hd were yarded at this fortnights Murgon Fat & Store Sale with a welcome 30-40c price increase in almost all descriptions.

Bulls topped at $3.66/kg averaging $3.40/kg for $2,000/hd. Bullocks averaged $3.96/kg for $2,100/hd. Store cows made $3.66/kg averaging $3.00/kg for $2,200/hd.

Weaner steers topped at $4.94/kg for $1,500/hd and averaged $4.38/kg. Light feeders topped at $4.48/kg and heavy feeders made $4.60/kg. Mickey bulls ranged from 280-500kg and topped at $3.40/kg and averaged $3.10/kg for $1,100/hd.

Weaner heifers topped at $3.94/kg and averaged $3.30/kg. Light feeders topped at $3.66/kg for $1,400/hd and heavier types made up to $4.30/kg for $2,100/hd.

Cows & calves topped at $1,200/unit.

The next Murgon Sale will be on Tuesday the 26th of May at 8am followed by Coolabunia at 12pm.
