Smithton Cattle Sale Report

Agents yarded 350 head on a Wintery wet day. This didn’t stop a very large crowd fronting up in what was a very strong market with most categories selling for dearer rates.
Heavy steers and heifers
$4.54
Heavy Cows topped at $4.22 making over $3400 a head.
Dairy cows $3.50-$3.80
Bulls 3.30-$3.50
Store cattle
Weaned steers
$1900-$2280
These steers were estimated to be well over $6kg live weight.
Lighter beef and crossbred steers
$1300-$1900
Yearling heifers
$1300-$1700
Lighter dairy types
$380-$940
