Total Yarding: 4540 (-1300)

Interim Report. Isolated falls of light rain across parts of the supply area contributed to a reduction in cattle numbers at Dalby, with supply declining by 1,300 head to 4,540. Cow numbers also eased to 793 head while bull numbers remained relatively high at 347 head. A fair sample of cattle was drawn from a wide supply area and included 486 head from far western Queensland and 126 head from New South Wales, alongside 3,928 head sourced from local districts. A fair panel of buyers was present however the southern export processors of the previous weeks were absent.

Heavy weight yearling steers to feed at the time of this interim report have averaged 4c/kg better. Medium and heavy weight yearling heifers experienced very little change in price. Grown steers and bullocks sold to a firm market. However heavy weight cows to processors averaged 4c to 10c/kg cheaper.

Medium yearling steers to feed made to 516c to average 505c/kg. Heavy yearling steers to feed averaged 530c and made to 548ckg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed made to 478c and averaged 442c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed made to 492c with most sales at 456c/kg.

Grown steers to export processors made to 480c and the bullock portion made to 470c to average 462c and heavy grown heifers made to 430c/kg. Very plain condition cows to restockers averaged 294c and better condition lines averaged 333c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows to export processors averaged 364c and the best of the cows made to 387c to average 380c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 440c/kg.
