Commentary

Numbers were back slightly for a yarding of 5661 lambs. Quality was good with large runs of shorn trade weights on offer, along with good supplies of heavy lambs. Lighter secondary lambs were again sort after by restockers. Prices were firm to $5 dearer across most grades.

Lightweight processing lambs to 18kg sold from $170 to $233/head. Trade weights 20kg to 24kg sold from $250 to $298, and heavy lambs over 24kg sold from $298 to $345/head. Carcass prices averaged between 1160c to 1200c/kg cwt. Light lambs to restockers sold to $270, and heavy hoggets reached $259/head.

There was 2903 mixed quality mutton yarded, and prices were firm to cheaper. Merino ewes sold from $90 to $264, and crossbred ewes, $179 to $296/head. Merino wethers sold from $112 to $280, and crossbred rams sold to $175/head. Most sheep sold in the range of 780c to 840c/kg cwt.
