Commentary
There was a larger number of 191 trade and export cattle at Powranna on Tuesday with about 30% being cows.
The quality was very mixed with a large percentage of yearlings and grown cattle unfinished and the prices reflected the lack of quality.
The best yearling steers made 392c to 440c and the heifers 380c to 438c. The best grown steers made 390c to 420c and the seconds 340c to 367c while most export heifers made 345c to 382c/kg.
There were 60 cows penned and best heavy pens made 320c to 352c averaging 4c higher while leaner made 294c to 324c and very lean 252c to 270c. Heavy bulls made 314c/kg liveweight.
