Mt Gambier Sheep Report

All data provided by
Meat & Livestock Australia Saleyard Reports

Report Date: 4th February 2026

Total Yarding: 1,836

Commentary

Numbers lifted as agents yarded 1,634 lambs and 202 sheep to total a combined 1,836 head overall. These sold to another small group of trade buyers with a limited number of active restocker orders. Quality was mixed in an erratic sale where mixed results in pricing came about as some of the heavy lambs eased down under 1000c while some of the lighter lambs raced the other way to jump over 1100c and some pens pushed the 1200c/kg cwt mark.
Light lambs to the trade sold from $205 to $224 as restocker orders turned lambs out from $201 to $243/head. Tradeweight lambs sold from $220 to $255 as the heavy lambs returned vendors from $260 to the market high of $285/head.
Hoggets ranged from $170 to $210 as ewes sold from $140 to $210 with a solitary pen of rams made $70/head.
