Commentary

The supply of stock increased by 585 head to 2,072 at Warwick. All the regular processors attended and with the extra numbers of well finished lambs and mutton on offer all were able to operate which lifted prices from $4 to $7/head on lambs and $8 to $22 /head on heavy ewes. Restockers again were very active on the store lambs which improved in price from $7 to $10/head.

Light weight young lambs to restockers sold from $60 to $80 with those over 16kg to restock at $80 to $93/head. Lambs in the 18 to 20kg range to restockers sold from $78 to $116/head. Butcher weight lambs sold from $120 to $140/head. Lambs suited to the wholesale meat trade made $179 to average $154/head. Heavy lambs to processors sold from $185 to $197/head.

Larger numbers of hoggets on offer and sold from $77 to $119/head. Light weight ewes to processors sold from $35 to $50 with medium weight ewes at $51 to $80/head. Very heavy ewes sold from $81 to $94/head. Wethers to processors sold from $97 to $170/head. Ram lambs to the wholesale meat trade sold from $86 to $131/head. Older rams to processors sold from $90 to $134/head.
