Clermont Combined Agents yarded just over 900 head at this week’s Prime and Store Sale, with the offering once again dominated by prime cattle. In excess of 600 prime cattle presented, with cattle drawn from Clermont and surrounding districts. Overall, the quality across both the prime and store sections was good.
Bullocks over 500kg topped at 467.2c/kg for a pen of EU Droughtmaster steers, with bullocks averaging 456.2c/kg. Heavy cows in good supply sold to a top of 389.2c/kg to average 374.2c/kg, placing Clermont in line with other Central Queensland selling centres. Heavy prime heifers reached 436c/kg, while the bulls topped at 382.2c/kg to average 348c/kg. Numbers through the store section were limited however, quality remained consistent throughout. Feeder steers short in supply sold to a top of 4682c/kg to average 439.2c/kg. Weaner steers reached 512c/kg for a pen of Gelbvieh Cross steers. Feeder heifers sold to 420.2c/kg, while weaner heifers recorded an isolated top of 460.2c/kg for a single heifer. The main run of heifers topped at 398.2c/kg and averaged 346.6c/kg.
