Commentary

Small winter yarding of just 1550 lambs and 550 sheep. It was the first sale held in a month at the centre and price results were cheaper, the market impacted by very wet weather and limited numbers which meant not all the usual buyers attended. A few pens of heavy meat ewes were the most affected by the weaker results.

The lamb sale opened on a line of recently shorn fed heavy trade lambs of very nice quality which sold from $284 to a top of $304/had. Underneath this was a mixed selection of trade types in various skins at $240 to $280/head. The neatest lambs still tracked above 1100c/kg cwt. Pens of lighter lambs including some Merinos $148 to $228/head.

Sheep prices were pulled back from recent strong levels, the best price $280 for heavy Merino ewes in a good skin. Big crossbred meat ewes sold to $258/head.
