The Clermont Prime & Store Sale today saw a mixed quality yarding of 620 head, cattle were sourced from Clermont and surrounding districts. Prime cattle dominated the yarding with good runs of heavy bullocks on offer, but only a few select pens of heavy cows to quote. Buyer competition remained strong throughout the prime section, with all regular processors active. Store cattle numbers remained limited, with mainly brahman type cattle on offer. Despite the reduced supply, quality cattle continued to meet strong demand. Heavy steers over 500kg averaged 417.6 c/kg and sold to a top of 431.2c/kg. Heavy heifers 500-600kg averaged 383.7c/kg and reached 393.2c/kg. Cows 400-520kg averaged 288.2c/kg and sold to a top of 340c/kg, while cows over 520kg averaged 337.9c/kg and reached 361.2c/kg. Bulls sold to a top of 402.2c/kg. Weaner steers topped at 450.2c/kg while weaner heifers sold to a top of 394.2
