The Clermont Prime & Store Sale today saw a yarding of 638 head, with cattle sourced from Clermont and surrounding districts. One regular meatworks buyer was absent; however, competition remained solid throughout the yarding.
Heavy bullocks were well represented, with bullocks 500-600kg topping at 399.2c/kg to average 385.9c/kg, while bullocks over 600kg topped at 400.2c/kg to average 385.7c/kg.
The cow yarding presented a good quality offering overall, although there was considerable variation in weight and finish throughout the section. Heavy cows over 520kg topped at 339.2c/kg to average 324.4c/kg, while cows 400-520kg sold to a top of 328.2c/kg to average 308.8c/kg. Heifers 400-500kg topped at 363.2c/kg to average 332.1c/kg.
The store yarding saw strong competition through the steer section. Feeder steers 400-500kg topped at 474.2c/kg to average 468.2c/kg. Steers 300-400kg topped at
532.2c/kg to average 463.5c/kg, while heifers 300-400kg topped at 300c/kg to average 283.1c/kg. Weaner heifers 200-300kg topped at 316c/kg.
