Dubbo Store Cattle Sale Report
Report Date: 2nd July 2026
Total Yarding: 593
Commentary
The July monthly store cattle sale produced a yarding of 593. It was a good quality yarding with some good runs of well bred weaners along with some quality lines of cows and calves. There was also a good selection of PTIC cows along with some good lots of dry cows. There was a very good crowd on hand with solid support from locals along with buyers from Forbes and Orange.
Following the good rains the market was solid in all departments. Steer weaners under 200kgs sold from $730 for crossbreds to $1210/head for Angus calves. The balance of the steer weaners sold from $1290 to $1310/head. Heifer weaners sold from $625 for Black Baldys to $1350 for crossbreds in very forward condition.
The cow and cow and calf markets were very strong in line with the solid physical markets. The best of the cows and calves were a line of angus cows with their second calf at foot. They sold for $2925 while the balance of the cows and calves sold from $2175 for a single Murray Grey unit to $2600 for European cross cows with fresh calves at foot. PTIC cows sold from $1425 for crossbreds to $2620/head for good quality Angus cows. Dry cows sold to the fatteners ranging in price from $1490 to $2090/head.
