Commentary

Inverell penned 1153 lambs and 707 grown sheep for the first sale of 2026 241 less than the last sale of 2025. Trends were mixed but tended to a cheaper trend for the most part. The regular buyers attended and oprerated with sheep to a generally cheaper trend.

Merino lambs to the paddock $115 to $153/head. Trade Dorper lambs dearer $186 to $220/head conversely heavy trade dorpers were cheaper $220 to $255/head. Heavy crossbred lambs cheaper selling to $235/head. Crossbred lambs to 30kgs cwt were cheaper $266 to $300/head. Limited lambs over 30kgs cwt sold to dearer trends $320 to $350/head. Hoggets $181 to $255/head.

Trade Merino ewes with half wool were dearer making $245/head. Trade Dorpers slipped $5/head $154 to $210/head. Heavy crossbred ewes made $270/head . Heavy wethers $200 to $205/head.
