Commentary

Inverell agents penned 1,823 lambs and 1,193 grown sheep. All the regular buyers attended and competed strongly which resulted in all lambs selling to dearer trends. All mutton keenly sought after by processors and sold to improved rates.

Young lambs to restockers sold from $130 to $138/head. Older lambs in the 18-22kg range to restockers sold from $200 to $236/head. Trade weight lambs to processors sold from $230 to $296/head. Lambs in the 26-30kg range to processors sold from$252 to $340 with heavy lambs topping at $400/head.

Hoggets to processors sold from $170 to $231/head. Light weight merino ewes to restockers sold $157 with those to processors at $153 to $170/head. Heavy dorper ewes to processors sold from $230 to $246 with the crossbred ewes at $215 to $280/head. Merino wethers to restockers sold to $124/head. Heavy wethers to processors sold from $260 to $274/head. Meat rams sold to $120/head.
