Commentary

A penning of 1575 was offered to a smaller group of buyers. Weaners were best supplied and there were a few pens of PTIC cows. The market followed similar trends of the week and sold to cheaper trends.

Light weaner steers sold to $1200/head for 180kg Angus steers and $1290/head for 198kg Charolais steers, medium weight Angus steers were $80 to $100/head cheaper and most sold from $1250 to $1490 and averaged 560c/kg but an exceptional pen of steers sold to $1630/head averaging 630c/kg. The heavy weight weaners topped at $2050/head or 550c/kg. Weaner heifers were also cheaper slipping $80 to $100/head, light heifers reached $1000/head for Charolais heifers weighing 182kg or 620c/kg. Medium weights sold from $950 to $1390/head and the C muscled heifers ranged from 480c to 510c/kg. The best of the heavy weights reached $1750/head for 356kg.

4 and 6 tooth Angus PTIC Angus cows sold from $1825 to $2040/head.
