Commentary
Agents offered 180 liveweight and open auction cattle and 50 open auction calves. The usual buyers were present and active along with limited feeder and restocker demand. Prices were generally firm to marginally dearer this week for the better finished cattle with store descriptions also selling in the vendors favour.
Vealer steers sold from 280c to 328c with vealer heifers ranging from 150c to 302c/kg. Yearling steers sold from 184c to 322c with heifers selling from 290c to 298c/kg. Grown steers sold from 260c to 290c/kg. Light cows sold from 120c to 196, medium cows ranged from 220c to 224c with heavy cows selling from 204c to 248c/kg. Bulls sold from 180c to 254c/kg.
