Commentary
Prices remained generally firm as agents offered 240 liveweight cattle and 60 open auction calves. The usual trade and processor buyers, specialty butchers, feeders and restockers provided generally good competition across the offering.
Vealers sold from 320c to 340c with trade steers selling from 330c to 350c with heifers fetching 310c to 330c/kg. Restocker steers sold from 300c to 330c with heifers fetching 180c to 300c/kg. Feeder steers sold from 330c to 365c with heifers ranging from 288c to 330c/kg. Heavy steers sold from 320c to 360c with heifers ranging from 280c to 300c/kg. Heavy cows sold from 280c to 300c as light cows ranged from 180c to 250c/kg. bulls sold from 220c to 270c/kg.
