Dubbo Cattle Sale Report
Report Date: 16th April 2026
Total Yarding: 11,200
Commentary
The large sell off continues with a yarding of 11200. Once again cows and young cattle suitable for the restockers made up a large percentage of the yarding with only odd pens of prime cattle mixed throughout. Overall it was a better quality yarding with better numbers of steers and heifers to suit the feeder buyers. There was very limited restocker support from northern buyers though there was additional support from the south.
Young cattle to the trade were close to firm with prime vealers and yearlings selling from 410c to 490c/kg. The very best of the feeder steers and heifers were firm to a little dearer, most though were 10c to 15c cheaper. Feeder steers sold from 398c to 531c while the feeder heifers sold from 340c to 488c/kg. The better quality young cattle to the restockers were 10c dearer however the plainer types were cheaper. The young restocker steers sold from 355c to 532c and the young heifers sold from 305c to 435c/kg.
Grown steers and heifers finished around firm with the prime grown steers selling from 424c to 470c/kg. Prime grown heifers sold from 419c to 474c/kg. Cows to the processors were 28c cheaper while the cows to the restockers were only 15c/kg easier. 2 and 3 score cows to the processors sold from 250c to 337c while the prime heavy weights sold from 305c to 360c to average 336c/kg. Cows to the restockers sold from 120c to 332c/kg. Heavy bulls sold to 418c/kg.
