Previous Close Cattle Markets Summary

Cattle markets showed generally firmer to dearer trends nationally, with strong feeder and restocker competition supporting quality young cattle, while cow markets were more mixed depending on quality and processor demand.

The trends appear to be:

  • Supply mostly lower in NSW, though larger yardings appeared in VIC and WA
  • Strong feeder and restocker demand driving widespread price gains
  • Quality yearlings and well-bred feeder cattle attracting intense competition
  • Trade cattle generally firm to dearer
  • Cow markets mixed, with heavy cows stronger in some centres but softer in others
  • Market remains quality-driven, with better-finished cattle achieving premiums

East Coast (NSW, VIC)
