Commentary

Inverell agents penned 3,815 lambs and 2,051 grown sheep. All the regular buyers attended and operated on a very strong market across all lambs and mutton with most lines selling to dearer trends.

Light weight lambs to restockers sold from $70 to $160/head. Dorper lambs in the 18-20kg range to the butcher trade sold from $162 to $220/head. Lambs over 20kg to processors sold from $180 to $262/head. Crossbred lambs in the 24-30kg range to processors sold from $196 to $387/head. Heavy lambs to processors sold from $303 to $404/head.

Hoggets sold from $170 to $300/head. Crossbred and dorper ewes to processors sold from $158 to $354/head. Merino ewes to processors sold from $160 to $259/head. Merino wethers to processors sold from $217 to $268 with crossbred wethers at $175 to $358/head. Ram lambs to the butcher trade sold from $110 to $188/head. Meat rams sold from $70 to $180/head.
