Mt Barker Cattle Sale Report

Commentary
Numbers were down for a small yarding of 487 head at Mt Barker. A mixed quality yarding again dominated by light weight weaner calves with a turnaround this week seeing most categories gain 20/30c /kg. Good quality lines of yearlings gained 15/20c while heavy cows remained firm.
Weaner steers sold to 362c for heavy weights and from 330c to 406c for the lighter weights. Weaner heifers made 230c to 348c for lighter weights.
Yearling steers sold from 314c to 364c while yearling heifers made from 306c to 330c/kg.
Grown heifers weighing under 540kg made 190c to 250c and heavier weights sold from 200c to 245c/kg.
Heavy weight cows made 200c to 234c while store cows gained on quality returning 170c to 222c/kg. Heavy bulls sold from 190c to 214c /kg.
