Previous Close Cattle Markets Summary

The trends appear to be:

East Coast (NSW, VIC)
Overall firm to dearer market, driven by strong competition for feeder and restocker cattle.
NSW results were stronger:
- Yass (1,165 head) recorded solid gains for feeder steers and restocker cattle, while heavy cattle held firm and cows were mixed
- Dubbo (2,584 head) saw stronger demand lift weaners, feeders, grown cattle and cows across a mixed-quality yarding
VIC (Koonwarra store sale) stood out:
- Large, high-quality yarding of 4,334 head
- Intense feedlot and local buyer competition
- Most categories lifted $50–$150/head
- Strong demand for weaners and yearlings
Summary: Strong feedlot and restocker demand continues to underpin the market, with quality young cattle and store stock attracting significant competition and higher prices across key eastern selling centres
