Previous Close Cattle Markets Summary
Cattle markets were generally mixed to softer, with rain-reduced yardings supporting quality cattle in some centres, while selective buying and variable quality pressured feeder, secondary and some grown cattle.
The trends appear to be:
- Rain and wet conditions reduced yardings across several NSW and Victorian markets.
- Strong demand supported quality young cattle, feeders, finished cattle and heavy cows in selected centres.
- Secondary and plainer cattle generally faced softer demand and lower prices.
- Queensland markets showed stronger competition for quality cattle, while NSW and Victoria remained mixed.
