Previous Close Cattle Markets Summary
Cattle markets were generally firm to dearer across much of Australia, with feeder cattle, restocker lines and quality young stock attracting the strongest support. While some centres recorded mixed results due to quality variations, most markets reported improvements across key categories, particularly in feeder cattle, cows and heavy bulls.
The trends appear to be:
- Feeder cattle and restocker cattle were the standout performers
- Young cattle generally sold to firm or dearer trends
- Cow markets were mixed but improved in several centres
- Heavy bulls continued to perform strongly
- Quality remained a key factor influencing results
- Southern markets were mostly firm to dearer, while some pastoral cattle markets remained softer
East Coast (QLD, NSW, VIC)

- Carcoar (2,250 head) recorded significant gains for feeder and restocker cattle, while cows improved by 8c/kg.
