The trends appear to be:

  • Young cattle, weaners and feeder cattle recorded widespread price gains on improved seasonal confidence.
  • Cows strengthened strongly at Armidale and Dubbo, while some heavier categories remained mixed.

Queensland

  • Blackall yarded 3,000 head, with improved quality and stronger local and interstate restocker demand lifting most steer and heifer categories following rain.

  • Dubbo yarded 1,299 head, with a smaller mixed-quality yarding recording significant gains across weaners, feeders, trade cattle and cows.

Victoria

  • Koonwarra yarded 1,322 store cattle, with improved quality and strong local competition lifting heavy feeders by 10c/kg and supporting well-bred weaner prices.
