Previous Close Cattle Markets Summary
Cattle markets were generally firm across Australia, with feeder cattle, restocker lines and quality young stock continuing to attract the strongest support. While some northern Queensland centres recorded softer trends, most eastern and southern markets reported firm to dearer outcomes, particularly for feeder cattle, trade stock and well-bred young cattle.
The trends appear to be:
- Feeder and restocker cattle remained the strongest-performing categories
- Quality young cattle continued to attract strong competition
- Cow markets were mixed, with gains in some regions and softer results in others
- Better-bred cattle consistently outperformed secondary lines
- Heavy steers and bullocks were generally firm to dearer
- Northern Queensland markets remained more variable than southern regions
East Coast (QLD, NSW, VIC)
