Commentary
There was much smaller yarding of 1,146 lambs (940 less) at Powranna on Tuesday with few heavy pens included. Light store lambs were $5 to $10 dearer while trade weights were similar to a few dollars dearer.
Restockers paid $20 to $38 for very small lambs, $30 to $66 for light, $60 to 120 for light trade and $110 to $120 for trade.
Processors paid $95 to $116 for light trade, $116 to $154 for trade and $140 to $152 for heavy with one extra heavy pen topping at $200/head.
There was a very small yarding of 401 mutton (1,081 less) and with fewer buyers on the rail prices lost $5 to $15 of last week’s gains. Heavy sheep made $40 to $68, medium $42 to $66 and light $18 to $20/head.
